Cool Game Sites

City of Heroes - My favorite MMO. It's been very good to me over the years.

Kotaku - Decent source of consumer gaming info. Reviews are somewhat iffy.

Gamasutra - Great source for game developers.

Deep Blue

When I find a new tool or technology I'm interested in learning I usually dive in with a pet project. I figure the best way to learn something (other than teaching it) is to actually work with it. When I first heard about XNA and the possibility of creating my own games on the xbox 360 I couldn't resist the temptation. The only problem, XNA is programmed with C# and I had no experience at all with C#. But no worries, it's just one more thing to learn.

It started out as a side scrolling submarine battle game, but after seeing "The Deep", a documentary about extreme deep sea creatures I had a whole new idea.

Although the gameplay stayed very similar, the story evolved into something much deeper (no pun intended). Check out the dev blog or Facebook page for more information.
