Creating the Yu Yu Hakusho trading card game was just the first step for Score Entertainment in launching this new trading card game to a nationwide audience.

The next task, and possibly greater challenge was marketing a brand new card game that was based on a still unheard of (in America at least) Japanese cartoon. The good and the bad of the deal is that the collectible card game was going to be one of the first Yu Yu licensed products to hit the shelves.

Score responded by opening the Official Yu Yu Hakusho trading card game website months before game launch, and following the early launch with a well orchestrated site development schedule.

Month by month, new features were added to the site which kept the site constantly growing and kept visitors returning again and again to see what would be added next. By the time the message board launched, one of the final pieces to the site, there was already a strong community of Yu Yu fans that were looking for a way to talk with other fans. Message board traffic the first week of launch was greater than the traffic on the very popular Dragon Ball Z collectible card game message board.

And the Yu Yu Hakusho trading card game was off to a great start.
